Robert Half International Staff Accountant in Orlando, Florida

If you're an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy, there's an exciting opportunity through Accountemps for you to check out at a firm in the Service industry. The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Your duties will also include participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors throughout quarterly reviews and annual audits. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Key responsibilities

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

  • Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Microsoft Excel experience desired

  • Vow to meet business deadlines

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
