The Aerodata Support Specialist will serve to support design & maintenance of GE Aviation Digital’s (GEAD) performance-based instrument flight procedures (IFP), and airspace-related tools and services. This position will reside in the Design Services Support Department and report to the Manager of Design Support Services.
Obtain, process, format, manage, and update multiple forms of aeronautical data, geospatial data, and cartographic information.
Serve as a liaison to airport facilities management, operator’s airport/airspace personnel
Monitor relevant AIRAC and NOTAM reports, including external regulatory and industry standards and rules
Identify and understand changes to aeronautical and geospatial data and clearly articulate impacts of those changes.
Perform quality assurance responsibilities and ensure standardization and compliance of aeronautical products and services.
Support IFP maintenance, including tracking and communicating internal/external change management items in support of on-going operations rhythm
Support GEAD Navigation databases to include ensuring databases match “gold standard” within tolerances and coordinating data discrepancies both internally and externally

Bachelor's Degree in Geospatial, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalentEligibility Requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the US is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills. Desired Characteristics:
Significant experience with airline operators, aircraft OEMs, or air traffic control is highly desirable
Experience utilizing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining GIS applications, particularly tools such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS or equivalent.
Familiarity with aeronautical data including, aeronautical information publications, digital obstacle files, navigation charts, is highly desirable
Ability to work beyond comfort zone to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Demonstrated knowledge of a programming language (e.g. C/C++, Java, Python, VBA).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of specific tasks while working as an integral part of a dynamic team on larger tasks.
