Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company is currently hiring a Senior Category Manager based in Houston, Texas.

In this role, you will have global responsibility for managing contract labor suppliers, which includes strategy, execution, cost reduction and compliance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the global and regional supplier strategy

  • Execute strategy to drive cost reduction and spend control

  • Negotiates pricing, terms and conditions for supplier agreements

  • Ensure all compliance with local government laws, regulations and policies

  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies to secure cost advantage in the market

  • Analyze data and business intelligence to identify and exploit trends in the market

  • Ability to work in a cross functional and matrix organization

  • Expand supplier relationships to ensure high service levels with competitive pricing

  • Monitors supplier compliance and performance against established contracts and processes

  • Responsible for issue resolution and common processes ensuring continuous improvement

  • Identify and implement complementary enabling technologies

  • Handles special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or relevant field of study

  • 10+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement for indirect spend

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office systems

  • SAP knowledge and experience

  • Strong negotiation and contract skills and strong alliance management skills

  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities

  • Excellent ability to communicate with internal customers and suppliers

  • Thorough knowledge of Master Supply Agreement (MSA) content and structure, including, but not limited to, legal terms and conditions, payment terms, as well as RFP development and execution
