About the Role

This position resides in the Citi Risk Management department responsible for more than $10B Franchise Retail Credit Card Portfolio. As part of the Citi Retail Services Risk Management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing and managing acquisition strategies and policies for the Retail Credit Card Portfolio. The position offers a challenging environment for the right candidate to apply experience and knowledge in a creative manner while also providing a unique opportunity to influence management and impact the portfolio in a significant way. He / She will work in a cross-functional environment with internal business partners such as Finance, Operational Teams, Legal/Compliance and Partner Management. The role requires several years of credit risk management experience, strong statistical and analytical skills and technical SAS skills. The successful candidate will be able to drive rigorous analytically derived results and objective recommendations which balance risk and reward for the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities & Collaborative Points

  • Develop recommendations to adjust credit policies by analyzing credit and financial performance utilizing statistical scoring, segmentation, regression and simulation techniques

  • Implement initiatives to ensure consistency and compliance with credit policies

  • Provide simple, concise and clear communications of complex data trends and analyses on portfolio performance, emerging trends and areas of opportunity to senior management, SCO and the business.

  • Ability to leverage credit risk data experience and business acumen to observe key trends / threats / inaccuracies and drivers of those observations.

  • Strong ability to translate business objectives into analytical framework and solve them by using optimal trade-offs between risk and revenue metrics.

  • Ability to work efficiently balancing between both business and functional interactions and priorities.

  • Utilize SAS in a UNIX environment to perform risk, financial and data analysis including profiling, sampling, reconciliation, and quality testing.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of financial services experience in analytic role is required, experience in credit card risk management preferred.

  • Understanding of consumer credit risk management and Credit Card Profit & Loss Drivers.

  • Ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business objectives.

  • Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and possess strong interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills.

  • BA/BS degree in Quantitative Fields such as Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Business Finance, or Mathematics (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Proficient SAS/SQL programming skills and advanced spreadsheet skills. Knowledge and experience of segmentation, statistical procedures, and financial analytic tools are required.
