Job Summary

To plan, coordinate and assist in expediting the activities of preventative maintenance (PM) to accomplish an orderly and cost effective PM process.

Essential Job Duties

  • Will assist in development, implementation and the maintenance of a cost effective PM Program.

  • Will assist in development, implementation and the maintenance of a cost effective Work Order System.

  • Serve as the point person in coordinating all work to be performed with the department requesting the work. With the Maintenance Manager, ensures that the work performed is effective and appropriate.

  • Estimate labor, materials and other costs for maintenance projects.

  • Establish and maintain written and electronic records for estimating departmental performance indicators and standards.

  • Will understand and maintain focus on achieving the company financial goals. You will be expected to continually develop and implement ideas to reduce product-manufacturing cost, without exceeding budgeted dollar amounts.

  • Will rely on experience, judgment and ongoing education to plan and accomplish all goals as determined by management. A wide degree of creativity and flexibility is expected.

  • Will be responsible for supporting all Safety initiatives implemented within the facility.

  • Will be required to attend weekly departmental meetings.

  • Prepare estimate of material and labor.

  • Prepare and plan transition to Oracle Base system.

  • Create and maintain miscellaneous maintenance reports.

  • Will be required to attend and participate in all Plant Continuous Improvement activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Computer skills (Microsoft office) Oracle experience a plus.

Preferred experience with VBPC parts system.

Preferred basic knowledge of equipment .

Basic math skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to decipher numbers, use a calculator, count and ability to do inventory.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED. Requires 2 or more years of responsible experience at as a general mechanic or higher level maintenance position.
