Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The CCAST (Credit Capital, Allowance and Stress Testing) organization is seeking a highly motivated individual to join a high profile team. CCAST is a unit within Corporate Credit & Market Risk. The CCMR group is responsible for independently overseeing the management of credit risk exposures and the quality of credit risk management practices across the company.

The CCAST team is responsible for:

  • Oversight and analysis of credit risk-weighted assets (RWA) in compliance with Basel regulations

  • Consolidation, coordination, documentation and oversight of the allowance for credit losses (ACL) and related external disclosures

  • Coordination, oversight, documentation, and submission for the credit section of the company-wide stress testing exercises in compliance with Dodd-Frank/Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) requirements

The CCAST team works with people throughout the company, including Senior Credit Officers, Controllers, Treasury, and other groups in support of the $960B loan portfolio and other credit risks. The team is also responsible for maintaining strong relationships with regulators, external auditors and other examiners.

CCAST is seeking an individual to work with the Wholesale Workstream Lead to ensure the bank’s compliance with the Basel regulatory capital rules for Wholesale (i.e., Corporate, Bank and other wholesale business) credit exposures. This highly visible position will work with wholesale data providers, corporate controllers, and others to provide guidance and oversight of the processes for submitting complete and accurate data for capital calculation and to provide support for management adjustments. Additional responsibilities include variance analysis of risk-weighted assets, review of portfolio reporting and artifacts supporting compliance with Wells Fargo policies and Regulatory Basel requirements.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate key process or requirement changes and provide guidance for data submissions and management adjustment

  • Support wholesale data providers in the research and remediation of data and general ledger reconciliation issues

  • Provide relevant training to wholesale data providers

  • Perform data analysis to better understand quarter over quarter trends in the wholesale portfolios and identify potential issues requiring remediation

  • Collaborate with the Regulatory Basel Reporting team, who owns the Data Collection System (DCS) used to submit Basel data files and perform capital calculations

  • Build strong partnership within the group and with other business partners, including but not limited to Basel Qualification Group, Corporate Finance, Corporate Functional Model Oversight, wholesale Lines of Business and Wells Fargo Audit Services

  • Develop subject matter expertise on the regulatory capital rules and regulations as they apply to credit risk, capital calculations and reporting requirements

  • Assist in the identification and monitoring of changes to the Bank’s Advanced Systems

  • Understand data systems of record and data warehouses that support the wholesale data submissions

  • Work with the RCCO Analytics and Reporting team to ensure accuracy of portfolio reporting

  • Work with the RCCO operations and governance teams to ensure production deadlines are met, long-term work remains on track, communication to stakeholders is accurate and timely, and required process documentation, governance, and controls are in place

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of risk reporting experience, risk analytics experience, or a combination of both

  • 3+ years of risk and regulatory compliance experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding BASEL, Risk Appetite and stress testing

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
