JOB DESCRIPTION: Collaborates with the Civic and Community staff and Director in leading a robust, educational, and meaningful community engagement portfolio. Oversees planning, implementation, relationship building, and evaluation of assigned civic and community engagement programs involving students, faculty, alumni, and community partners/participants. Takes a major leadership role the planning and oversight of three signature programs; Project SHINE (Students Helping in Naturalization and English), Volunteer Emory, and Alternative Breaks. This includes, but not limited to supervising student leadership teams, serving as liaison between community partners and the Office of Civic and Community Engagement, insuring proper coordination of travel recruiting, preparing, and maintaining positive relationships with community partners/sites, and cultivates positive relationships with faculty who teach service learning courses for the purposes of having their student participant in programs. Oversees all aspects of Alternative Breaks including, but not limited to supervising and advising student leadership team(s) for Alternative Breaks - developing curriculum and procedures for planning and executing co-lead training for Alternative Breaks. Further develops and maintains relationships with Alternative Break and civic engagement organizations, both local and national. In coordination with the Director, conducts training and represents the program at various conferences, meetings, committees, and seminars. Monitors expenditures and conducts financial forecasting, as needed. Prepares operational and statistical materials and reports to assist in decision-making, newsletters, briefings, online/social media, and overall promotion of programs. In conjunction with the Associate Director and Director, develops and executes assessment tools and strategies for Project SHINE, Volunteer Emory, and Alternative Breaks. Responds to internal and external requests in a timely manner. Keeps supervisor informed of professional and program successes, challenges, and concerns through written reports (as necessary) and 1-on-1 meetings. Demonstrates professional and appropriate relationships with students, parents, alumni, Emory faculty/staff, and community partners. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
