Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Help drive action plans to meet or exceed aggressive EH&S goals; Lead/instruct EH&S training courses per the site training schedule to ensure compliance and improve EH&S customer service, Employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts in EH&S operations.

  • The EH&S Professional must actively work as part of the site team to ensure the best EH&S practices and standard work are relentlessly driven across the site; Drive the hazard risk assessment strategy, program evaluation, audits and all other required EH&S external recognition programs.

  • This position is also expected to provide timely information and guidance to the site EH&S council and Sub-Committees, including EH&S performance trends and root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses; and support in the development and implementation of strategic action plans to achieve the company goal of having a hazard-free workplace, injury-free employees and an unmatched commitment to compliance and pollution prevention.

Additional Duties include:

Develop strategic plans, build partnerships and influence across the site organizations to provide an actionable improvement program

  • Facilitate the site EH&S programs

  • Assist with the development of junior EH&S employees and operations staff as needed

  • Participate in pollution prevention / waste reduction initiatives

  • Work on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups external to and within the core EH&S team

  • Along with management, act as an EH&S liaison with employees at the site


Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Environmental or related discipline and minimum of 5 years of experience

  • Must have at least 5 years of directly related experience in an EH&S function managing responsibilities in a manufacturing environment

  • Requires strong EH&S Regulatory compliance management experience

  • Must have experience leading program implementation efforts

  • Demonstrated experience with meeting aggressive safety goals

  • Experience presenting to and training large groups implementing EH&S programs required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree

  • Certifications such as CSP, CIH. P.E. or CHMM
