Location: Charlotte, NC

The Inventory Procurement Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day procurement of goods to support the needs of all Novant hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and medical group practices. The Inventory Procurement Coordinator is assigned to multiple commodities and works under the general direction of the Inventory Manager.

The following is a summary of the major job processes of this position. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time:

A. Responsible for daily ordering activities for up to 2,500 stock items in a fast-paced health care distribution center. Regular duties include:

a. Manage inventory balances. Calculate stock levels and re-order points. Calculations must be in accordance with established guidelines and procedures

b. Communicate all supplier issues to Inventory Manager

c. Research and potentially procure substitute products in the event of manufacturer backorders

d. Work closely with on-site supply chain management staff to provide outstanding customer service.

B. Maintain each item's MIN/MAX by studying history and trends to ensure stock is available to meet daily demands

C. Monitors vendor performance to ensure vendors for each line item is delivering product in accurate quantities and within the time frame designated

D. Assist as necessary with converting existing items to a similar product

E. Provides follow-up and expediting activities to ensure delivery as required by the end user

Qualifications

The following qualifications are the minimum necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

A. Education and formal training:

a. Bachelor's degree preferred

B. Work experience:

a. Minimum of 5 years of buying/purchasing or equivalent experience

C. Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

a. Strong skills in supply chain systems/ERP specific to materials purchasing

b. Excellent communication skills, written and oral

c. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work

d. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

e. Strong MS Office skills, specifically Outlook and Excel
