Position Description

Position Purpose:

The Project Manager – Team Lead has full knowledge of the primary job functions within project management and is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects. This position is the first step toward a management position, creating an introduction to management in combination with the person’s core job function competency. The position provides direct leadership to Staff Project Manager associates within the team. The Project Manager – Team Lead will also take projects from original concept through final implementation and will interface with multiple stakeholders affected by the project. They will develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports. Typically requires five to seven years of professional experience in a project management and/or consulting role.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Workforce Management process to ensure PM’s are being allocated to new projects and that allocations are aligned with PM’s skills

  • Provide performance management support to Project Manager Management for annual review cycle to include discussions of resource’s performance with colleagues and peers, input into performance reviews, and delivery of performance reviews

  • Ongoing communication with assigned resources in multiple venues: 1:1 meetings, team meeting, ad-hoc meetings and feedback, mentoring conversations and other tasks as assigned.

  • Provide support to direct manager for interviews, career path, discipline, mentoring and recognition

  • In addition, team leads will also function as Sr. Project Managers, performing all the necessary functions of that position, to include driving assigned projects to ensure success including compliance with budget, schedule, quality, and process standards

  • Plan and supervise activities for multiple, large-scale projects, managing expectations and ensuring all applicable functional areas in Fiserv are engaged on the project.

  • Create and maintain a project schedule for each project by identifying and monitoring overall project timeline, project milestones, tasks, resources, ETAs, task dependencies, and critical paths.

  • Control and track project performance, time allocations, cost, and quality by constantly evaluating project progress and conducting regular team status meetings as well as coordinating with other project managers and organizational entities to identify and monitor issues, impacts, and dependencies.

  • Provide status on progress of projects and Prepare and conduct informal and formal presentations. Ensure audit compliance.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent Project Management work experience required.

Experience Required:

  • 5 - 7 years of professional experience in a project management and/or consulting role.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

  • Proficient with Project Management Tools including MS Project, Project Workbench, etc.

  • Experience working in the Information Technology and/or Financial industry

Travel Required:

  • Occasional travel required (less than 25%)
